PS-12 Inductive Proximity Sensor

The PS-12 is an inductive proximity sensor designed for non-contact detection of metallic objects. Operating on a three-wire system, it outputs an open collector PNP pulse and features a 0.15-inch sensing distance with a 0.45-inch target. Encased in a threaded metal shell with IP67 protection, the sensor includes a red LED indicator for on-target presence. Its operating principle relies on a coil and oscillator, creating an electromagnetic field. The dampening effect caused by a metallic object alters oscillation, triggering the sensor’s output. To ensure stability, set the sensing distance to 80% of the rated distance. The PS-12 operates on 6-36 V dc @ 15 mA, has an open collector PNP output, and functions within a temperature range of -13° to +167 °F [-25° to +75 °C]. The sensor is compatible with iron targets, and the detection distance varies based on target material. With an M12 threaded metal housing and dimensions of 2.36 in. x 0.48 in., the PS-12 is a reliable and versatile inductive proximity sensor.
