Hydrogen Gas Detector in Battery Room
All in One Solution and Installation Service for Detection
Due to the integration of hydrogen gas detection systems with various electric equipment, computerization, and automation systems, it is evident that these setups often monitor large-scale hydrogen gas detector in battery room. However, these battery rooms are more susceptible to explosions and pose a significant hazard to individuals entering the premises. Explore our in-detail article and learn how to solve the issue

Why do we need Hydrogen Gas Detection in Battery Room?
The main reason for this is, the Hydrogen Gas generation from Lead-acid batteries. The electrolyte in the Lead-acid batteries emit hydrogen gas while charging and discharging.
Hydrogen is a colorless and odorless gas which when reaches a concentration range of 4% to 75% LEL is highly flammable in presence of oxygen and can even cause severe skin burns and eye issues to the workers coming in contact with it.

Ambetronics Solution for Hydrogen Gas Detector in Battery Room
- The best way to solve this is by installing a hydrogen gas detector that will activate the fan only if the concentration reaches 1% LEL and also raise an alarm when the concentration reaches to 4% LEL
- Hydrogen gas being lighter than air, generally tends to accumulate at the top areas. Hence, Hydrogen gas detectors are fitted at the highest, draft-free location in the battery compartment i.e. 1 to 3 feet from ceiling.
- The key to deal with this problem is to install Ambetronics Gas Detector (GT – 2511 model) and Gas Monitor (TC – 800/1600 model) which can be configured with the exhaust fans, valves, or Hooter cum Flasher; so that whenever the gas concentration goes beyond the safe limit, the critical area not only gets ventilated but the flow-valves are also shut thereby alerting the security guard.
